Follow Friday---11---

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee. It is an amazing and fun way to get to know a LOT about your other blogger friends. Hats off to Rachel for this mind-blowing meme and also the questions she comes up with every week. I am certain I will never stop posting this weekly meme. Its one of my most favorite!!

This week's question is---
Q) In light of the Summer Solstice. Also known as the Midsummer.....lets talk about faeries. What is your favorite fairy tale or story that revolves around fae?
I used to love reading fairy tales when I was a kid, as in I would read the same story everyday and never get fed up. Even now, occasionally, when I am bored with the usual books, I happen to read them for the fun of it. I remember that for my 9th birthday, my dad got me a customized copy of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast in which instead of the main princess's name, my name was printed. I was overjoyed!! :D
But my favorite fairy tale would be Rapunzel. I adore that book!!!
As for a story that revolves around fae, there is one in particular written by Isobel Bird in the series called Circle of Three. I can't recall which book in the series because there are 15 books and I read them all some time ago. Oh wait!! I got it- In The Dreaming (#5) . I absolutely LOVED the series. You all should check it out.

A fab question once again. Thanks PJ! What about you?? Leave a link and I'll stop by. :D

Review---Sunset (Pact Arcanum #1)

Hey everyone!!!  I LOVED THIS BOOK!! It is such a huge book with so much to say that I am sure I haven't done the book justice with this short review. I could actually come up with pages and pages of stuff to say, but I didnt know for sure if that would be ideal. So I put all my enthusiasm into this review and I hope that, even though its not so big, you guys get the point about how wonderfully awesome this book is.

Sunset by Arshad Ahsanuddin is the first book in the Pact Arcanum series. It is amazing how the author has taken the concept of vampires and turned it into something completely different from the usual vampire books. And when I say "completely different" I mean, not the stereotypical blood-drinking, super-fast, afraid-of-sunlight kind of vampires. Yes, the book, to a certain extent has all of that but also so much more. It is a very well written book!! What I liked most about the book is its hypnotizing, overpowering sense.  The story is so gripping that you cannot but finish the book soon. It was honestly so difficult for me to pry myself apart from the book. Everytime I picked up my e-reader,and started reading,  I could feel myself being sucked into the story. I wasn't aware of anything in my surrounding during these blissful moments of reading.

The story is set in the future in year 2040, when vampires live among the humans in a hidden society. There are three races in the hidden society- Daywalkers, Nightwalkers and Sentinels. The nightwalkers are typical vampires. The Daywalkers are those who have reclaimed their souls. The Sentinels are soldiers who have been trained to kill vampires. All the three races have been in war against each other for thousands of years with one main motive- world dominance. I loved the action scenes in the book. The descriptions felt so real, almost like they were really there and not just fiction.
Thank You Arshad, so much for sending me the book. I enjoyed it completely!! Can't wait to read the next book. I will most probably cheat and cut through my entire TBR pile and read the 2nd book next.

Ratings - 5Stars

What do you guys think of it?? Is there anything more I could possibly do to make my reviews more better and informative. All views will be accepted warm heartedly.

Review---Storm Born by Richelle Mead (Graphic Novel Issue #2)

The long awaited 2nd issue has claimed to be as intriguing and exciting as the previous. I am so happy to review it!! :D

Where the first issue ended with entry of an elemental gentry- one that, in appearance looks something like a big, towering mass of ice blocks -the second begins with the action sequence that is bound to follow when Eugenie Markham is faced with a creature from the Otherworld. Like I mentioned before, this issue is as suspense-filled as the first. You can't help but jump to the next page when you are done with the current page and obviously its even more difficult to put the book down until you are done reading. Luckily for all of us obsessed readers, it only has around 25-30 pages and you can, very conveniently finish it in one sitting.
As always, Eugenie is successful in defeating all the creatures- that have ever dared to face her -which there are a few in this issue too. Even after facing a couple of small creatures and getting as exhausted- physically and mentally -as ever, it still doesn't stop Eugenie from being ever ready to help the abducted teenage girl Jasmine. That "case| is still the main event in this issue (and also in Eugenie's mind).  She also learns what it means to be betrayed. What is bothering her more is that, she actually cared about this betrayer and still can't get him out of her mind. She trusted him so easily without thinking twice and now she regrets it.  Will her small mistake cost her BIG?? Read the next issue to find out.
Meanwhile her stepdad is as helpful as ever. Even though, he isn't very keen on sending her,to rescue the girl, he understands that she is as stubborn as he was and will stop at no cost to protect the unknown girl.
Once again, I would like to cheer for Richelle Mead. Hip Hip Hurray!!!!!! She, most definitely, is the best author ever.
My sincere gratitude to the publisher (Patrick) of Sea Lion Books for sending me this issue also. I can\t thank you enough.

Rating- 4star

What do you guys think??  You must read it.

Follow Friday---10---

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee's View. Its a fun way to get to know more about fellow bloggers. Every week, a different question is chosen.

 This week's question-
Q) Genre Wars!! What is your favorite genre and which book in that genre made it your favorite?
Umm....that's a really tough one. I like books of all genres but to choose any one best out of the lot, I would pick- PARANORMAL. Yes, I am another supernatural freak. I became a serious, obsessed fan after I saw The Van Helsing movie when I was in 6th grade. But that wouldn't answer the other part of the question as to which book got me hooked onto the genre. So........I guess I will give all the credit to R.L Stine partly and Twilight partly. I used to adore reading Goosebumps and Fear Street books (Still do!! but  not the Goosebumps so much.) all the time. I recall getting so many books altogether from the library when I was a kid. But the thing is I can't actually call them "paranormal", so Twilight receives the rest- 50% - credit. Then there is also The Vampire Diaries series (DAMON!!! *sigh*) and The Vampire Academy series (Dimitri!!!) which will always ensure that I stick to the genre. :D :D

What about you?? Are you a Vampire-Werewolf  fan like me??? Leave a link and I'll surely stop by. :)

Review---Storm Born by Richelle Mead (Graphic Novel Issue #1)

Yes, I've been AWOL for a LONGG time (unfortunately again!!). It perhaps may seem to all of you that I'm disinterested in blogging. But NO, that is certainly not the case, I've never been so addicted to anything as much I am (and always will be) to blogging. I have always enjoyed the freedom of expressing my bookish thoughts here, with all of you. I am currently shifting to a different country, so packing and other errands take up most of my time. And I cannot take a one month leave from blogging because I have promised quite a few publishers/ authors to review their book. So here's one of the best that I've read!!!

One word- FANTASTIC!!! Yes, this book deserves all the praise. I've never seen a book so beautifully portrayed, with pictures and speech bubbles, as a graphic novel. True that, this is the first graphic novel I ever read (unless you count Archie's Digest :P) and yet I was able to see how each picture has been illustrated carefully to deliver the message.
All the credit goes to the publisher of Sea Lion Books and also Storn Born, for getting me hooked onto graphic novels. When Patrick at Sea Lion Books asked me if I would like to review the first issue, I was ecstatic!!!!! Being obsessed with the Vampire Academy series, I was overjoyed at the fact that I would be reviewing a book by Richelle Mead (She is theeeeee best author ever!!!!! Long live her and all her books. )
I would like to thank Patrick for sending me the first and second issue and also for being so patient as to wait so long. Thank you so much!!!!!

Storm Born follows the life of Eugenie Markham, a Dark Swan called Odile, named by her stepfather because of the form in which her spirit travels in the Otherworld (cool huh????). She is responsible for banishing all evil from the face of the earth by sending them to the Otherworld. Tiresome work, isn't it?? But you know what?? Strong and wilfull, Eugenie is perfect for the job. She is illustrated as a warrior with fierce looking tattoos on her neck and arms. Her character has been made very considerate and brave! She lives with Tim, her rommate, who earns a living by reading poetry and is a total flirt. We also meet her stepdad, Dean who is very protective of her and cares about her just as her real father would. He has retired from work and his main hobby is shamanism. Her mom, being aware of all choses to ignore it.In this issue, Eugenie has to deal with the abduction of a teenage girl, Jasmine. Her brother Wil believes that she has been kidnapped by a Gentry (another term used for a faerie). Now its upon her to risk her own life by travelling to the Otherworld and rescuing Jasmine.
This issue comes to an end with the suspense that follows after the entry of a "creature". I absolutely enjoyed reading this graphic novel and once again would like to thank the publisher for sending it to me. I have already read the 2nd issue.  Its review will be posted soon after this one.

Rating- 4 Stars.

You all MUST read this book. Let me know, what you think.

Press Release of Pariah (A series of graphic novels by ARON WARNER)

This is the info for the press release of PARIAH. It was sent to me by the publisher and I am overjoyed to be posting this info on my blog. Its an honor. :D :D

FROM THE MIND OF OSCAR-WINNING FILM PRODUCER
ARON WARNER

Sea Lion Books Unites Warner, Eisner-Nominated Illustrator Brett Weldele and Writer Philip Gellat to Bring A Unique Group of Beyond-Intelligent Teen Fugitives to the Comic Book World This July.
— LATEST NEWS & EVENTS —
Atlanta, GA – June 01, 2011 – They’re not super powered, they’re just super smart. The teen protagonists who lead us through the world of Pariah, a twelve-book graphic novel series from the mind of Oscar-winning film producer Aron Warner and published by Sea Lion Books, are the next generation of heroes in the comic book world. Eisner-nominated illustrator Brett Weldele (The Surrogates) will bring the stories to life in ink, and Philip Gelatt will pen the scripts set in Warner’s world for the twelve books. As buzz builds about this unlikely collaboration and the unique story of Pariah, the series will premiere at San Diego Comic Con on July 20 – 24th.

"I came up with Pariah after reading an article about in vitro genetic manipulation,” Warner says. “We take medications every day without fully understanding how they work. It’s kind of terrifying if you think about it. In Pariah, kids grow up with incredible intelligence as a side effect of modern ‘cures.’ The problem is that they’re so smart, they question everything – even things we hold as sacred. All of our laws, morals, and even physical constraints will be torn apart and re-built. These kids are adrift in every way, equipped with mental tools we can’t even imagine. On top of all of that, they’re persecuted, feared and hated. As if being a teenager didn’t suck enough…”

The Vitros, as the characters are called, are a group of several hundred kids from all over the world who possess beyond-human intelligence produced via genetic manipulation. As teenagers in the process of trying to uncover their identities, they live relatively normal lives, though not without a fair amount of suspicion thrown at them from the fringes of society. When the Vitrosare framed for a deadly explosion at a laboratory that releases a virus on the population, the government systematically begins to round up these pariahs, sending our heroes on the run from the authorities and their lives.

Says Sea Lion's Publisher, Derek Ruiz, "Aron has captured the essence of being a Pariah as seen through the eyes of a group of scientifically created teens. They are a Petri dish of innocent souls infinitely more intelligent than anyone else on Earth. Yet their creation and existence has left them shunned and condemned.”

What happens when the society that created them also tries to destroy them? The Pariahs fight back this July. For updates and additional information join Pariah on Facebook or follow PariahComicBook on Twitter.

R.A.K May Close Up.

Hey Everyone, I know I've been really scarce this week also.I am shifting to a different house and school this month so I've been (still am) busy. Please don't mind my absence. I will try to post at least twice a week. Try not  to miss me :P LOL.
With the end of the month (May) comes the end of another R.A.K session. This month, my first, has been absolutely amazing!! I got so many lovely books thanks to all my wonderful blogging friends. I completely enjoyed making someone's day more happy with the books that I sent them. And, mind you, I sent books to quite a few people (11 being exact). That's quite a good number, right?? Here's what I got in this spectacular month May.
      From Sarah@Workadayreads.

Thank You so much everyone for sending  me these awesome books.!!!!!! I really appreciate it. Its my first month and i received a really good number of books. Its truly a Random Act of Kindness. "Random Act" because you are making someone's day by sending them books no matter you know the person or not. Its very random as in, you'd do something as sweet as that for a stranger. "Kindness" because, well, as obvious as it is, because it goes to show a great deal of kindness in a person when they take some amount of time apart to make a stranger/friend happy. Thanks a TON to Book Soulmates for this mind-blowing idea.
Can't wait to sign up for June. What'd you get this month?? Leave a link and I'll hop by.

Follow Friday---9---

Follow Friday is a weekly meme in which you answer a questions about yourself. Its a lovely way to get to know more about your fellow book bloggers. Its hosted by Parajunkee . Thanks PJ. You want to participate?? Head right over to her blog, follow the rules and leave your link in Mr.Linky.

This week's question is-
Q) How many books do you read in a week? And in what form do you read them, or listen to them?
Since I got an ereader, I have bought very few paperbacks or hardback copies.I mostly read a LOT of ebooks and a few paperbacks when I am able to get them from the library or from my friends. I usually read 2-3 books in a week. Never more because I always have tests/assignments and homework to do. I am in awe of those people who can finish reading a book in 2-3 hours in one sitting. I haven't yet been able to figure out how they do so? (very jealous :P) There have been week's when I hardly have read anything. So, yeah, it varies from week to week. And, no, I don't listen to audiobooks. I feel they spoil the idea of reading a book and getting deep into it, forming a relationship with the characters.
Love this question, now I can do some lovely RAK to all my blogger friends who have ereaders. I have been going around sending everyone messages asking if they read ebooks, now all I have to do is check their FF answer. Thanks a lot  PJ for this wonderful question.

What's your answer?? Agree with me?? New to blogger?? I promise your gonna have a lot of fun.
Leave a link, my new friends!!

Synopsis-
Each night when 16 year-old London Lane goes to sleep, her whole world disappears. In the morning, all that's left is a note telling her about a day she can't remember. Teaser Tuesday---9---

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme in which you post a "teaser" from the book you are currently reading. Its super duper easy, all you have to do is flip open to any random page and pick a line that you like the most. Be sure not to add any spoilers, it just spoils the fun of reading the book. Its hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. My teaser is from Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella. Its a hilarious book but Becky is as annoying as ever. I am thoroughly enjoying it as of now.

<He takes Minnie round the waist and pulls, but she's hooked her legs through the seat and is gripping on to the sleigh with superhero strength. "Could you get her off, please?" the elf says, with strained politeness. I grab Minnie's shoulders."OK" I mutter to Luke "You get the legs. We'll yank her off. One, two, three-" Oh no.>
Hahahahahaha I am sure you guys can guess what happened. Its so funny. This is one of the main reasons I like reading Shopaholic series. They are just so hilarious. What's in your TT? Leave a link???

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme in which you flip to a random page of the book you are currently reading and pick any "teaser" that you like. Be sure not to include spoilers (that won't be fun for others, now would it?). My teaser, this week, is from Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia.

Genevieve closed her eyes again, visualizing the images. It had to be a mistake. He couldn't be dead. She had summoned her power. She had done it a million times before, moving objects in her mother's kitchen to play tricks on Ivy, healing baby birds that had fallen from their nests. Why not now? When it mattered?
Its a lovely book so far. I think it would turn out to be one of the best series books ever. You'll should definitely give it a try. What's your teaser this week?? Leave a link..

Review---Sixteenth Summer by Michelle Dalton

I know I am a little late in posting this review. I was a little busy. Sorry for that. Enjoy!!

Sixteenth Summer by Michelle Dalton follows the life of Anna, who has lived her entire life on Dune Island. Precisely talking, the book is all about her summer life. She mostly spends every summer in the same monotony, bored to death and craving for change. In the beginning, she is so bored with her life and complaining (seriously?? I would love to live on an island!!!) all the time, that I was wondering if I had made a wrong decision about reading this book as I honestly don’t like books were the characters (especially the main character) is always cribbing. But soon enough Will stepped into the story and it started getting interesting.  One thing I really liked about Anna’s life is that she lives on a frickin’ island!!! ( I think I mentioned that before, but….) She can go swimming anytime she wants (yeah!! I wish I could do that). Later on in the book, Anna makes some awful decisions to protect herself from being hurt. I wish she didn’t do that, as a lot could have been prevented. But everyone is different, you really can’t expect people to make the same decisions that you would, if you were in that situation.
I totally fell in love with Will. He’s such a sweet, positive guy. He’s also the non-jealous types (isn’t that great?!!??) and very thoughtful, loving, did I mention sweet, handsome.
I really liked the friendship between Anna, Caroline and Sam. That is just a totally super cute triangle of friendship. There are some things which even as friends you can’t understand about each other.
Short review, isn’t it? I had nothing much to say about it. It’s an ideal summer read, a lovely one, I must say. It’s very well written and would easily make anyone’s day. I thank Michelle Dalton for putting hard work into a lovely book as that and congratulate her for the success. Hope you guys found this piece of information useful. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Please go read it. Even if I haven’t been able to convince you through this review, you must read it. Its lovely and thus I am too wonderstruck to formulate the proper words.

Waiting on Wednesday---7---

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme which features the books that you are eagerly waiting for. It can be published or not. This is the basic idea, but as blogging goes, you can make it as different as you want. Its all about your creativity.I am going to feature 3 books this time (again! ).

Synopsis-
"Born into a life of secrets and service, Chrysabelle's body bears the telltale marks of a comarré -- a special race of humans bred to feed vampire nobility. When her patron is murdered, she becomes the prime suspect, which sends her running into the mortal world...and into the arms of Malkolm, an outcast vampire cursed to kill every being from whom he drinks.

Now, Chrysabelle and Malkolm must work together to stop a plot to merge the mortal and supernatural worlds. If they fail, a chaos unlike anything anyone has ever seen will threaten to reign."

Coming out on October 1st 2011.
Now that sounds amazing right????!!!!?? A little bit  of olden history (the whole serving the nobility thing.....) mixed with a little bit of vampire (or maybe a lot??)

Synopsis-
Everything is made of steel, even the flowers. How can you love anything in a place like this?

Daphne is the half-demon, half-fallen angel daughter of Lucifer and Lilith. Life for her is an endless expanse of time, until her brother Obie is kidnapped—and Daphne realizes she may be partially responsible. Determined to find him, Daphne travels from her home in Pandemonium to the vast streets of Earth, where everything is colder and more terrifying. With the help of the human boy she believes was the last person to see her brother alive, Daphne glimpses into his dreams, discovering clues to Obie’s whereabouts. As she delves deeper into her demonic powers, she must navigate the jealousies and alliances of the violent archangels who stand in her way. But she also discovers, unexpectedly, what it means to love and be human in a world where human is the hardest thing to be.

This second novel by rising star Brenna Yovanoff is a story of identity, discovery, and a troubled love between two people struggling to find their place both in our world and theirs.

Teaser Tuesday---7---

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme in which you post a "teaser" by flipping to a random page of the book(s) you are currently reading. But be sure not to include spoilers. It is hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. This week in Teaser Tuesday I have picked a line from one of my MOST favorite series books-House of Night by P.C Cast and Kristin Cast. Its from the 7th book in the series-Burned.

"Had he really believed since his fall that he didn't truly have feelings? He'd been a fool and wrong, so very wrong. Emotions battered him as he flew raggedly just above the waterline, chipping away at his already wounded spirit, raging against him, weakening him, bleeding his soul."
I totally love this series. Its amazing!!! Especially for a paranormal freak like me. :P
Everyone go ahead and give this series a try, start with Marked (its the first book in the series). I guarantee that you won't regret it. Atleast I hope  you won't :)

TGIF---3---

TGIF  is a weekly meme hosted by G-Reads. Its another lovely way to get to know your blogger friends a little more personally. You get to know about their likes and dislikes, their perspective of things et cetera. It also includes the recap of this week's posts.
This weeks question-
Q)Book Blogger Identity-What occupies your time when you are not reading and/or blogging?
I love such kind of questions so I probably will have a LOT to say. Here goes, my attempt to include all the things I do when I'm not reading or blogging, in a few paragraphs.
When I'm not reading or blogging, I usually am dancing. I love dancing A LOT!!!!!!!! Its an essential part of who I am. I am also well known among my friends for dancing. I love to break dance, pop and lock, street dance, hip hop, robot dance, krump, contemporary, ballet ( I often add a few moves of ballet here and there in my dance but I'm not a ballerina as in I don't know much about it.), bollywood cinematic dance and a lot more. Dancing is my life. I wouldn't be able survive without. I love the way some beats make me wanna get on the floor. I just feel so happy when I am dancing, like I could go on and on without caring about anyone or anything. What's more important is I have taught myself how to dance, I've never attended any classes or anything. And that's what I love more. That I can dance for myself, dance on my own. However I want, whatever I want.Without the restrictions of a coach.
I also love to sing, play my guitar and keyboard. They are also very important for me.
I am in a hurry right now, so I'll elaborate later. But yeah, dancing is MY LIFE. Sorry friends, but you'll get to read more about me sometime later. Thanks for stopping by.
Are you participating in TGIF, if not head right here and you can sign up for it. Its a lovely meme. You'll should definitely participate.

This weeks question-
Q)Circle Time! Time to share. What character in a book would you most like to be,what character in a book would you most like to date?
Thats easy. For me there is one important book, one very lovely character I want to be and one very handsome, hot guy I would LOVE to date. Its from The Vampire Academy. I'd be  totally honored if I could be Rose and I would be floating in heaven if I could date Dimitri. They are both so amazing. I really like female characters who are like warrior types.

What about you?I would love to know what you guys wanna be??Leave a link please??

Waiting on Wednesday---6---

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme which features a couple of books that you are eagerly waiting for. Usually its only about 1 book but I am going to add more. Its hosted by Breaking the Spine.  To participate just hop over to her blog and add your link in Mr.Linky. Here are my books for the week on WOW-

Synopsis-
Anna is dreading another tourist-filled summer on Dune Island that follows the same routine: beach, ice cream, friends, repeat. That is, until she locks eyes with Will, the gorgeous and sweet guy visiting from New York. Soon, her summer is filled with flirtatious fun as Anna falls head over heels in love.

But with every perfect afternoon, sweet kiss, and walk on the beach, Anna can’t ignore that the days are quickly growing shorter, and Will has to leave at the end of August. Anna’s never felt anything like this before, but when forever isn’t even a possibility, one summer doesn’t feel worth the promise of her heart breaking….

Synopsis-
Charlotte’s best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she’s cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what’s really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth, who feels the Need—a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.

There have been others before who’ve felt the Need, but they’re gone—erased from the memories of everyone whose lives they had touched. It's as though they never existed. This is the fate that awaits Charlotte. But the last thing Charlotte wants to do is disappear, to be Forgotten. She wants to stay with her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend’s arms forever. She wishes she could just ignore the Need, but she can’t. And as everyone important in her life begins to slowly forget her, she has to decide if she’ll fight the Need in order to remain herself—no matter how dark the consequences.

Synopsis-
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure-bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.

Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:

Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.

Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Lovely books, aren't they?? Can't wait for them to come out!!!!!I added Sixteenth Summer even though it got published yesterday because I read half of it and couldn't finish the book, so I can't wait to get my hands on a paperback copy of it. What's on your WOW??Leave a link, friends , and I'll be sure to stop by and follow.
